Formula 1:The class of 2022

 

All the teams and drivers are preparing for the new season of Formula 1.The new season is expected with great interest due to the new regulations and the new aerodynamics that the cars will have most notably the new floor design which will bring back the ground effect which is something we haven't seen since the 80's.

Another major change will be the new 18 inch tyres that will be introduced this year by Pirelli.The minimum car weight will be increased and from 759kg it will go at 775kg.There will be changes in the engines which will see the engines use biofuel mostly and there will be an engine freeze until 2025 also there will be a few changes for the safety of the drivers.

All these changes have been made because F1 wants to promote better racing,so the drivers can make easier overtakes and increase the spectacle.

MERCEDES:LEWIS HAMILTON-GEORGE RUSSELL  

George Russell will team up with 7 time world champion Lewis Hamilton in Mercedes.Valtteri Bottas leaves the team after 5 years and after helping them to achieve an 8th contructors championship.They will be looking to get both the drivers and constructors crowns. 

RED BULL:MAX VERSTAPPEN-SERGIO PEREZ  

The 2021 world champion Max Verstappen will take the number 1 which is reserved for the world champion(instead of his own number 33) and Sergio Perez will again team up with him since his contract extension in August 2021.The pair will look to win both championships for Red Bull this year.

FERRARI:CHARLES LECLERC-CARLOS SAINZ  

Sainz gets ready for his secong season with Ferrari,which last year took third place in the standings.The team plans to fight in the front this year with it's two drivers being on equal terms.Charles Leclerc will continue his successful stint with the team hoping for a win. 

MCLAREN:DANIEL RICCIARDO-LANDO NORRIS  

Mclaren will continue with it's current lineup,having lost out on third place in the standings to Ferrari for a few points but it proved that it can win races with the one two in Monza and will be looking to repeat this success again this year.

ALPINE:FERNANDO ALONSO-ESTEBAN OCON  

Alpine will be another team with same lineup of drivers with veteran Fernando Alonso who managed to get back in to the podium and Esteban Ocon who managed to get the teams first win this year.The pair will be looking to take Alpine in the top of the midfield or even better.

ALPHA TAURI:PIERRE GASLY-YUKI TSUNODA  

Yuki Tsunoda is no longer a rookie as he will be entering his second season in F1 with Alpha Tauri. Pierre Gasly who had an amazing 2021 season and finished 9th in the standings will continue with the team from Faenza formely known as Toro Rosso.

ASTON MARTIN:SEBASTIAN VETTEL-LANCE STROLL  

Four time World Champion Sebastian Vettel remains at Aston Martin for his second year with the team hoping for better results than last year.Lance Stroll also remains,the team hopes to finish in a higher position than 2021 as it enters it's second year of the it's five year goal to win world championship's.

WILLIAMS:NICHOLAS LATIFI-ALEX ALBON  

Williams changes its lineup for 2022 bringing former Red Bull driver Alex Albon who replaces Russell who is moving to Mercedes.Albon will partner Latifi in Williams as the team hopes the new regulations will help them improve their position and fight in the front of the midfield.

ALFA ROMEO:VALTTERI BOTTAS-ZHOU GUANYU  

Alfa Romeo is the only team on the grid with an entire new lineup for 2022.Bottas came from Mercedes while Zhou is only rookie on the grid this year and the first full time chinese driver in history. The team will be looking to get out from the back of the grid and into the midfield.

HAAS:NIKITA MAZEPIN-MICK SCHUMACHER  

The lineup at Haas will remain the same this season but neither driver is no longer a rookie both Schumacher and Mazepin will be entering there second season in F1 and will be looking to score there first points as the team has invested heavily on the new regulations.
